OUR FAMILY HISTORY

Our cottages are run by Emilie and Karim, who will do their utmost to ensure that your stay goes as smoothly as possible. Their children, Samy, Mia and Léa, are never far away to share playtime with your children.

The farm’s origins date back to the 7th century, with the story of Saint-Renelde, the patron saint of our village. She is said to have lived on our farm, which is why it bears the name Saint-Renelde Farm. The buildings date back to the early 16th century, and have undergone several transformations and renovations, most recently in 2017 and 2022.

In 1962, Romain Sergeant, Emilie’s grandfather, decided to acquire the farm in order to develop an agricultural activity, both animal and crop.

Several years later, his daughter Maryse and her husband Paul took over the farming activity, concentrating on crops. Today, the farm is run by their daughter Emilie, and the surrounding lands are farmed by the husband of their 2nd daughter. The farm thus remains in operation, while developing its tourist potential.

As far as the name “La Halte du Sergeant” is concerned, you have certainly understood that it was chosen to keep the memory of Emilie’s grandfather alive in our daily business.
